CELEBRITY FIGHT NIGHT ITALY IS BACK FOR THE ANDREA BOCELLI FOUNDATION

After the success of the first edition, Celebrity Fight night is back in Italy, and also this year the funds raised will benefit the Andrea Bocelli Foundation and the Muhammed Alì Parkinson Center.

In the course of the past edition the funds, almost six million dollars, – minus the expenses – raised by the Italian edition of CFN, benefited for 2/3 the Andrea Bocelli Foundation. They were used to give the opportunity to many children and to three entire communities of the island of Haiti, to have a functional and safe school and access to water and electricity. In the month of April, this year, the Foundation inaugurated the three new schools of Abricot, Croix des Bouquet and Kenscoff, bringing the number of students having access to education from 1,163 to 1,750. It was an important result and also the Founder and all his family wanted to attend the celebrations.

Even this year ABF will dedicate to Haiti the proceeds from the event, thanks to which other two schools will be built in two remote communities of the island of Haiti, where there is no education, and will also have the possibility to continue its intervention in the other three communities ensuring education, food, and health care, to a small army of 2,550 children.

«ABF is becoming, more and more, a living laboratory of people operating for other people, as it was much wished for, by our Founder. » – says President Laura Biancalani –. «By working in the field alongside our project partners “Fondation St. Luc”, an Institution that works only with Haitian staff, we have been able to establish dialogue, listening and above all a relationship of trust with the five communities where we operate, and through them we can touch every day the fruit of our joint work, in fact, we have come to perceive them as a part of our family.

This year we have shared many emotions: in April there was the opening of the schools that also Andrea wanted to attend, and it was a moment of great satisfaction for everybody. But also a few weeks ago, when we were in Haiti, it was exciting to visit families and see how proud they were to show their cultivated fields, which we had contributed to make fruitful through training and distribution of seeds and fertilizers.

This systemic approach starting from schools and then embracing the community is a model that ABF hopes to replicate, with the help of CFN, in many other regions.
