How to designate ABF as the beneficiary of my life insurance policy
The life insurance policy is not part of my estate. This means you are free to designate the Andrea Bocelli Foundation as a beneficiary, without restrictions concerning your heirs.
The Andrea Bocelli Foundation will receive the proceeds from your life insurance policy only after your passing, without any tax obligations.
You can designate the Andrea Bocelli Foundation as a beneficiary when you take out the policy, or, if you already have one, you can contact your insurance company to communicate your decision.

What kind of testamentary legacies can be disposed of?
The Holographic Testament
It is the simplest form of will.
It is written by hand on a sheet of paper directly by the testator, who must clearly specify the date, indicating the day, month and year, and then sign it.
For greater security and to maintain the secrecy of what is written, it is good practice to hand it over to a notary, or a trusted person, who will guard it until it is opened.
The Secret
Testament
It is drawn up by the testator and may be typed or typed on a computer, even by a third party.
It must be dated and signed, placed in a sealed envelope and sealed by the testator or the notary receiving it, in front of two witnesses.
The contents of the secret will remain unknown to everyone, including the notary, until it is opened. It requires certain formalities, but has the advantage of absolute confidentiality.
The Public
Testament
The public will guarantees greater security against loss, forgery or destruction.
It is drawn up and dated by the notary, signed by the testator, witnesses and the notary, and kept in the notary’s office.
A copy is registered in the General Register of Wills, making it traceable even without knowing the notary.
Examples of testamentary legacies
The disposable share
There is a part of the property that the testator may dispose of as he sees fit. This is called the disposable share. Then there are the reserved shares, which concern in particular the legitimate heirs.
Inheritance and legacy
The heir succeeds to all of the testator’s legal relations, whether assets or liabilities, and is his or her successor in respect of all or a portion of his or her property.
Several heirs may be included in testamentary dispositions. The legatee benefits from a particular testamentary disposition (the legatee), which includes individual assets or rights.
Legitimate heirs and shares
In some cases, one does not have full disposal of one’s assets in order to make a bequest, since by law certain categories of persons are entitled to a share in the assets. These are children (legal and natural heirs), spouses and direct ascendants (i.e. parents). Their share in the estate cannot be touched, otherwise the dispositions will be null and void.
