Andrea Bocelli Foundation at EXPO Milano 2015 as Participant of the Civil Society

The Andrea Bocelli Foundation will participate in Expo Milano 2015 among the participants of the Civil Society in the willingness to be open to discussion and to bring to public attention the names of Italian and international excellence in the fields of scientific and technological research and development economics. “We are honored and grateful to the Expo 2015 in the person of the Managing Director and sole commissioner Giuseppe Sala could be among the actors of this World Expo – declares the President Laura Biancalani – especially for the opportunity and the cultural value, of exchange meeting and that the six months of work we offer alongside many of our partners. Our Founder is then Ambassador Extraordinary Expo and this makes us feel doubly responsible to make our contribution by sharing the results of our work in the field of scientific and technological research and the fight against poverty, inviting us to reflect on the need to guarantee everyone food for the body, mind and soul. ”

Body, mind, heart need to be fed and in turn feed our being and our acting in the world. This is the concept that the Foundation Andrea Bocelli will develop in the events planning for Expo Milano 2015 and which will be supported by partner Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), and by prominent names in the panorama of scientific and economy development. Andrea Bocelli Foundation was created to help people in difficulty due to illness, poverty and social exclusion by promoting and supporting national and international projects that foster the overcoming of these barriers and the full expression of their potential.

The Foundation makes concrete its mission through two intervention programs: Challenges and Break the Barriers.

Program Break the Barriers aims to support and promote projects that help the weaker sections of the population in Italy and in the countries in developing, where poverty, disease, malnutrition and complex social situations invalidate or reduce expectations of life.

The Challenges Program is designed to bring together the best minds to find innovative solutions to help people cope with and overcome the limits imposed by their disability. The program then acts by supporting projects in the field of scientific research / technological and social innovation.

“With the addition of the Andrea Bocelli Foundation among the participants of the Civil Society of Expo Milano 2015 – explains the sole commissioner delegate of the Government for Expo Milano 2015 Giuseppe Sala -, the Universal Exhibition welcomes a major new representative of the Third Sector. The program of activities and events in which the Foundation will be present during the six months to help to develop and promote projects of great innovation. We are even more pleased that this proposal come from the Foundation of our Ambassador Extraordinary: demonstrates once again the commitment that Andrea Bocelli is putting to convey the message of the international Expo Milano 2015, ‘Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life’ ” .
